Every year in Oklahoma, thousands of ordinary people of all ages, shapes, sizes, colors, and backgrounds make a decision that transforms them from ordinary people to extraordinary people. They say "yes" to organ, eye and tissue donation. Without the organ donor, there is no story, no hope, no transplant. But when there is an organ donor, life springs from death, sorrow turns to hope and terrible loss becomes a gift.
LifeShare is a nonprofit, federally designated organ procurement organization (OPO) dedicated to the recovery of organs and tissue for transplant purposes. We work closely with five transplant centers and 145 healthcare organizations in the state of Oklahoma to facilitate donation. Additionally, we strive to raise awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation through public education.
