Oklahoma Pastor and Church Planter Saves Lives through Donation
Greg Penna, of Edmond, was known as many things: a loyal husband of 27 years, a father of three, a pastor, a church planting missionary, and an avid Saints fan.
Greg loved his wife, Cindy, and was always supportive, encouraging and caring towards her emotions. Together, they loved their companionship, watching football games and serving their local church together. |
He and his wife were a dynamic duo while helping church planters and their spouses. A church they helped start had five people and now runs 10,000 people per week. Together, their lives were wrapped around service to God and the local church.
There was also a time he served as an Interim Pastor at a local church. During his interim, he inspired the congregation to provide a service to the community. This service helped provide glasses, diabetes screenings, food and family portraits to hundreds of children and families.
As a father of three, he would do just about anything for his children. Driving across state lines for his daughter’s sorority events, going to softball games and orchestra concerts and even driving from Georgia to Ohio in a snowstorm to get a car to work on with his son.
Greg could make anyone laugh. He loved joking around, having fun and helping others see the lighter side to life.
He was incredibly passionate about his faith. As a pastor, he had the opportunity to serve many people both in Oklahoma and across the globe. Being a man of faith, he cared very much for those with needs, and deeply wanted to see people prosper in their lives.
Greg was incredibly giving in his life. To anyone in need, he would work as hard as he could to help or see them prosper.
In keeping step with how he lived his life, Greg was able to enhance others’ lives across the country in his death by becoming a tissue donor. His bone has helped reduce pain in those receiving spinal surgery, his skin has helped those reconstructing after a post-mastectomy, and his connective tissue has helped with knee and leg mobility.
Greg lived his life well, and in the end he left a legacy for countless others through his decision to be a donor.
