OKLAHOMA FAMILY CELEBRATES LIFE AFTER SISTER'S TRAGIC DEATH THROUGH 5K
In 2014, Jennifer Ward lost her 25 year old sister, Stacy Hadley, in a tragic accident; however, Stacy lives on in others as an organ donor.
Jennifer will celebrate her sister’s life and bring awareness to the importance of organ donation by participating in the Little Red Heart 5K organized by the LifeShare Foundation in Oklahoma City on Saturday, November 3.
The LifeShare Foundation serves as a partner to LifeShare of Oklahoma by generating awareness, support and research for organ, eye and tissue donation.
Stacy had an infectious laugh and a contagious smile that made everyone around her feel like a friend. She was the type of person that you could count on for anything, and always the first to lend a helping hand or hug of comfort.
Jennifer noted because of her sister’s decision to be an organ donor, her last gift to the world was granted through LifeShare.
“Stacy saved six lives by becoming an organ donor, which is an example of her unwavering character as her last gift to the world,” Jennifer said.
As part of the run, Jennifer set up a team in Stacy’s honor called “Stacy’s Squad”. All proceeds raised by the members of Stacy’s Team will be donated to the LifeShare Foundation.
The race will be held at Regatta Park in the Boathouse District of Oklahoma City. For more information or to register, visit LifeShareOKFoundation.org.
