LifeShare Welcomes New Recovery Surgeon
LifeShare Transplant Donor Services of Oklahoma recently announced Shi-Feng Li, MD, of Oklahoma City, has taken a role at the organization as a third Recovery Surgeon.
LifeShare is the organ procurement organization in Oklahoma responsible for the recovery of organs and tissue for transplant purposes.
“We are very honored to welcome Dr. Li to our recovery team,” said Jeffrey Orlowski, President and Chief Executive Officer of LifeShare. “Dr. Li brings decades of experience in surgical transplant and this valuable experience will help us to save more lives through donation.”
In this role, Li is responsible for the surgical recovery of donor organs for transplantation or research. This position is instrumental in directing the flow of activity during the recovery process. Li will collaborate with both LifeShare and external resources to develop and promote practices to increase the number of organs recovered for transplant.
Li has more than 30 years of experience in surgery, with more than 28 of those years in transplant surgery. Before joining the team at LifeShare, he worked as an Organ Procurement Surgeon and the Surgical Director of Organ Procurements at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center.
Li graduated with his Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Masters in Medicine from West China University of Medical Sciences in 1984 and 1987. He is a member of the American Medical Association, a Fellow of the American Society of Transplantation, and a Member of the International Liver Transplantation Society.
