LifeShare to Raise Flag Celebrating Donate Life Month
Celebrating 535 Lives Saved in 2022
This April, LifeShare Oklahoma is celebrating National Donate Life Month, a month established to raise awareness about donation, encourage Oklahomans to register to be donors, and honor those that saved lives through the gift of donation.
LifeShare is the federally designated organization responsible for the recovery of donated organs and tissue in the state. The organization recently announced its ninth-consecutive record-breaking year, and that 535 lives were saved in 2022 – the most ever in a single year in Oklahoma.
LifeShare is celebrating Donate Life Month and honoring donors with a Flag Raising Event at their headquarters.
Beginning at 11:00 a.m., a flag will be raised during a brief ceremony. The public is invited to attend.

More than 100,000 people across the country are currently waiting for a lifesaving transplant, and 700 of those are waiting here in Oklahoma. Thousands more wait for lifesaving and healing tissue transplants. Only 3 in 1,000 people die in a way that allows for organ donation to take place, so it is vitally important for everyone to register their lifesaving decision to be an organ, eye and tissue donor.
LifeShare encourages the public to make the decision to be a donor, register their decision at their local tag agency or online at LifeShareRegistry.org, and share that decision with their family.
