LIFESHARE HAS A RECORD BREAKING FIRST QUARTER - 124 LIVES SAVED SO FAR IN 2016
LifeShare Transplant Donor Services of Oklahoma recently announced they had a record breaking first quarter of 2016. The organization reached new high records for the number of organ donors recovered during the first three months of the year.
LifeShare recovered 48 organ donors in the first quarter of this year, passing the organization’s previous record of 45 donors in the first and second quarter of 2015. Prior to 2015, the high record was 41 donors in the last quarter of 2014.
The record breaking first quarter of 48 donors equals 142 organs transplanted and 124 lives saved.
LifeShare also announced that in 2015, they were ranked second in the nation for donors per capita. The organization recovered 174 donors during the year.
“We are incredibly excited about the level of work LifeShare has accomplished so far this year,” said Jeff Orlowski, President and Chief Executive Officer of Lifeshare. “While 124 lives have been saved through organ and tissue donation, there are still more than 750 Oklahomans on the waiting list for a lifesaving transplant.”
