EDMOND FAMILY REMEMBERS TODDLER THROUGH 5K

Picture
Michelle  and Jantz Kinzer, of Edmond, lost their child Jantz Jr. ten years ago, yet he lives on in others as an organ donor. Baby Jantz, as he is affectionately called, will be celebrated in the upcoming Little Red Heart 5K organized by the LifeShare Foundation.
The LifeShare Foundation serves as a partner to LifeShare of Oklahoma by generating awareness, support and research for organ, eye and tissue donation.

Eager to please, Baby Jantz quickly learned his ABCs, 123s, and a multitude of new words. He loved attention and making people laugh. The family’s home is nestled on five wooded acres with an assortment of animals, a barn, room to run and a world to explore. It was a wonderland for Baby Jantz.

“He had a little wheelbarrow that he pushed all over the property,” laughs Michelle. “When it was warm enough, he’d go outside, pull his diaper off and run around pushing his wheelbarrow.”

A tragic event occurred and Baby Jantz was unable to recover. Thanks to Baby Jantz’s gift of lives, he was able to save a 54-year old Oklahoma woman and his liver saved an 18-month-old boy in Texas.

The Kinzer family will celebrate Baby Jantz’s life and bring awareness to the importance of organ donation by participating in the Little Red Heart 5K in Oklahoma City on Saturday, November 3.

“LifeShare was with us throughout this difficult time and continues to be a part of our lives.”

As a part of the run, the Kinzer’s have set up a team in Baby Jantz’s honor called “Team Baby Jantz”. All proceeds raised by members of Baby Jantz’s team will be donated to the LifeShare Foundation.

Team Baby Jantz has already raised more than $5,000 and is currently the leading fundraising team for the event.
The race will be held at Regatta Park in the Boathouse District of Oklahoma City. For more information or to register, visit LifeShareOKFoundation.org.
