LifeShare Saves Record-Breaking Number of Lives in September
Oklahoma City, OK (October 11, 2024) – LifeShare Network continues to achieve record breaking results through the month of September. Across Oklahoma, LifeShare Network’s clinical and administrative staff worked together to successfully recover a record 85 organs for transplant in one month, enhancing lives across our communities. Thanks to the compassionate decision of donor heroes, those waiting were able to receive the gift of life.
“We’re incredibly proud of our team and their dedication to our mission,” said Jeff Orlowski, President and CEO at LifeShare Network. “The technology we’ve implemented this year has given us new ways of maximizing opportunities for donation and transplantation, creating opportunities to save more lives.”
In addition to their record-breaking month, the organization reached a new milestone, perfusing its 100th liver on the OrganOx metra, a perfusion device which allows a liver to be maintained outside of a donor's body while awaiting transplant. Perfusion and preservation of organs has become a heavily explored area of medical advancement in hopes of providing more organs for transplant to decrease the national waiting list.
With the final quarter of 2024 remaining, LifeShare Network looks forward to forging ahead in their mission to save lives and inspire hope.
