LifeShare Experiences Record-Breaking First Half of 2024
In the first six months of 2024, LifeShare Network recovered a record-breaking 152 organ donors and 489 tissue donors, surpassing the previous year’s numbers by 27% and 2.5%, respectively.
From January to June, 311 lives were saved across Oklahoma. Donor heroes gave the ultimate gift of life, offering hope to those still waiting on the transplant list and their families.
“As always, we owe our gratitude to donors and their families, alongside the steadfast commitment of LifeShare’s staff, hospital and transplant partners,” said Jeff Orlowski, President and CEO of LifeShare Network. “LifeShare is on pace for its eleventh record year of coordinating donation. Our efforts are focused on increasing the availability of organs and tissue for transplant.”
Among the reasons LifeShare stated were leading to record-breaking performance was the utilization of state-of-the-art equipment, LifeShare’s ability to attract and retrain staff and the generosity of Oklahomans.
With the organization’s success and anticipated growth, LifeShare expressed their intention to continue raising awareness for and investing in organ donation through its hospital, transplant and community partners.
